Field Obfuscation

 Field obfuscation was stumbled upon in 2009, when test results of a certain material yielded impossible results.  The test kept showing improvement in the control cable when the test cable utilizing a brand new material was in close proximity.  Thus began many years of research and exploration to understand the phenomena presented.

Principles of development

The basic objective, though impossible, is to create a layer of material that no wavelength can penetrate or affect.  The discovery that the influence of wavelengths outside electrical and audible range still affects performance was pivotal, introducing a whole new branch of material science research.  The art of the research was to combine a matrix of materials that had uniform attenuation across all frequencies, as much as possible.  Breakthroughs in 2023 and 2024 finally shed light on that elusive goal, and can be pinpointed as the single most important factor to allow the Prestige product line to exist.

Shield replacement

Field Obfuscation is an alternative to the conventional shield applications most cables use.  Instead of creating a solid (foil shields) or stranded (tinned copper braided) material interaction, Turnbull Audio uses highly engineered particulates.  There are multiple materials, and each material has been exhaustively tested to determine the best shapes and sizes of each particulate.  The combination creates a confusion to fields of many different wavelengths, and results in a cable that behaves like a conventionally unshielded cable electrically, while rendering many interactions benign like a shielded cable.
